New found Island May un veal
Clues to Dodo life of long ago
Everyone knows about these flightless birds that lived many decades ago on our planet. Dodo birds were birds that could not fly like the existing penguin. Dodo birds became extinct in the late 1600's. In excess of the last few weeks of examining, a group of scienctits were investigated a 3000 year old fossil found on an island called Mauritius.Scienctits also studied the dodo's DNA, they conclude that thier DNA samples descended from pigeons, but were very mysterious. But the dodo's closest relative was the Solitaire, another extinct flightless bird that they discovered on a nearby island. The Solitaire and Dodo share common ancestors that scientists estimate lived around 25 million years ago. The mammals establish to the island by early on visitors may have been the problem. Monkeys and pigs quickly established themselves and may have competed for food, eaten dodo eggs or somehow disturb the environment.
